A recent headline caught my eye: severe asthma is more common in lower-income families.
Not because income itself is the cause, but because it is often associated with factors that do have an impact, such as poor ventilation, mold, air pollution, and inadequate housing maintenance. And that is interesting. Because it reveals something we have long ignored: health does not arise in isolation, but in your environment, your lifestyle, and your internal balance.
What is asthma, really?
Asthma is fundamentally a chronic inflammatory reaction of the airways. The bronchi, the tubes that carry air to your lungs, become hypersensitive.
When exposed to irritants like pollen, dust, or air pollution, this happens:
