PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Mommy Formula contains all the important micronutrients for the pre-conception phase and pregnancy, in responsible, well-absorbable forms. These include bioactive B vitamins, natural vitamin D3, iron in bisglycinate form, coated vitamin K2, and choline. Unique is the addition of a significant dose of standardized ginger extract. This formula can be used before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and while breastfeeding!
Quatrefolic® – the most absorbable form of folic acid
Folic acid (vitamin B11) is an important vitamin in the first weeks of pregnancy. Folic acid supplementation increases the mother's folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus.* The Mommy Formula contains Quatrefolic®, a high-quality, directly active form of folic acid: 5-MTHF. Unlike folic acid, 5-MTHF does not need to be converted in the body and is immediately available.
The Health Council advises women who wish to become pregnant to start taking folic acid four weeks before conception and to continue taking it until at least the twelfth week of pregnancy. The formula contains 600 mcg of biologically active folate, a good and responsible amount.
Vitamin D3 supports immunity and bones
Vitamin D is also an important vitamin during pregnancy. It supports the immune system and plays a role in bone formation in children. Because the need for vitamin D is increased during this period, pregnant women are advised to take extra vitamin D daily. This formula contains 25 mcg of vitamin D3 per daily dose, making additional intake unnecessary.
Ginger: natural extract
A special addition to the Mommy Formula is standardized ginger extract (5% gingerols). Ginger has been used for centuries, including during pregnancy. The dosage in this formula has been carefully chosen for daily use.
Choline
During pregnancy, the need for choline increases. This is a substance also found in large quantities in breast milk. During pregnancy, it is important for mothers to get enough choline. Vitacholine®, a well-absorbable form tailored to this increased need, has been added to the Mommy Formula.
* The beneficial effect is obtained with an additional folic acid intake of 400 μg per day for at least one month before conception.
