Many people believe that aging begins when you see it. When energy decreases, recovery slows down, and complaints accumulate. But what you notice is only the end result. Your body is constantly engaged in: building up damage and repairing damage. As long as this is in balance, everything functions well. But when repair consistently lags, a shift occurs.

Each cell contains instructions on how it should function. Due to oxidative stress and exposure to harmful substances, this information can be damaged. This causes cells to work less accurately.

- Limit exposure to toxic loads (such as smoking, air pollution, pesticides, and heated plastics)
2. Telomere shortening
Telomeres protect the ends of your DNA. They shorten with each cell division. Chronic stress accelerates this process.
What you can do:
- Reduce long-term stress (e.g., through breathing, walking, moments of rest)
- Combine strength training with light exercise (such as walking), which is associated with maintaining telomere length
3. Changes in gene regulation
It's not just about your DNA, but also about how genes are controlled. Lifestyle partly determines which genes are active.
What you can do:
- Ensure sufficient folate and choline, important nutrients for gene regulation (e.g., folate from green vegetables, choline from eggs and meat)
- Maintain a consistent circadian rhythm (light during the day, dark in the evening)
