PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Supermarkets no longer have seasons. Strawberries in December, asparagus all year round. Everything is always available, and precisely because of that, nothing tastes like anything anymore. Eating with the seasons changes that. This book follows the Dutch year as it truly unfolds: you cook with what is currently in season, from farmers you get to know by name.
The book is divided into four equal parts, one for each season: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each part contains 23 recipes that fit what that season has to offer. Together, they guide you through a complete cooking year, from the first spring vegetables to the hearty stews of winter.
But it's not just about recipes. Each season explains where you can get the products, which kitchen tools you need to get started, and which farmers you can visit in that season. This way, you not only know what you're cooking, but also where it comes from and who grew it.
The four seasons
Each section stands alone and follows the same rhythm: first the season itself (what is ripe now, what comes from the land), then the 23 recipes, and finally the practical guide to products, tools, and farms.
