The new standard for a healthy home

Taking good care of yourself often lies in the smallest choices.

Taking good care of yourself often lies in the smallest choices.

Also during your period. More and more women are making conscious choices about what they eat, drink, and put on their bodies. We believe that menstrual products should be no exception.

You use them every month. A tampon, a sanitary pad, a panty liner. For most women, it's part of a routine. You buy it, use it, and then buy it again the next month. Without really thinking much about it. To be honest, we used to do the same.

Until we started looking into what menstrual products are actually made of.

Have you ever asked yourself this?

What is a tampon actually made of?

Why do many menstrual products contain fragrance?

Why do some tampons leave fibers behind after removal?

What is a sanitary pad actually made of?

Perhaps you've never had a reason to think about it. Frankly, neither had we.

That changed when we started researching menstrual products.

The more we read, the more we discovered that surprisingly little attention is paid to the materials these products are made from.

Even though you use them every month. Years in a row. From that moment on, we started looking at menstrual products differently.

Not from the question, "Which one is the most absorbent?" But from a much simpler question: "Would this be the product we would choose for ourselves?"

It started with one simple observation.

From one observation to an entire product line

During our research into menstrual products, we noticed something. Some tampons released loose fibers when pulled apart.

That got us thinking. From that moment on, we not only re-evaluated tampons, but the entire menstrual product line.

From sanitary pads to panty liners. Always with the same question: are we making a product we can fully stand behind ourselves?

Why more and more women are deliberately choosing Elvou

Not because we promise more. But because we make different choices when developing menstrual products.

Voelt schoon!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why organic cotton?

Most tampons contain a mix of rayon, viscose, and bleached cotton. These are fibers you don't see, but they are there — right against your most sensitive skin. Our tampons are different. The core, the protective layer, and the string: everything is 100% organic cotton. GOTS-certified, which means that the entire chain — from field to final product — is monitored for organic farming and fair labor practices.

How do you bleach your tampons?

Cotton needs to be purified before use. The question is how. We use a TCF — Totally Chlorine Free — process based on peroxide water. No elemental chlorine, no dioxins.

What is the difference between Regular, Super, and Super Plus?

Regular for light to normal days. Super for busy days. Super Plus when you need maximum absorbency.

Why do most sanitary pads leak through the wings?

With conventional pads, fluid sinks downwards and to the sides—towards the wings. While the center of the pad still has absorption capacity left. That's not a design flaw, but it has also never been solved. Until now.

Our day pads are made with Drywings™: a patented system that prevents leakage via the wings. The pad's full absorption capacity is utilized before anything can escape along the side.

Choose consciously. Every month again.

Your period is a recurring part of your life.

That's why we believe the products you use should be developed with the same care as the rest of your daily routine.

That's the idea behind the Elvou Menstrual Line.
