PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids. In addition to various omega-3 fatty acids, our supplement also contains a high dose of natural astaxanthin, which is a carotenoid and acts as a powerful antioxidant. Our omega-3 is a unique formula that is very stable and sustainable.
Oil made from Calanus
Our omega-3 supplement is made from unprocessed, pure oil from Calanus finmarchicus. Because high doses of the antioxidant astaxanthin are released during the production of this oil, the oil is protected against oxidation. Calanus oil, with more than 40 different fatty acids, is a comprehensive supplement. As one of the first in calanus oil production, our producer controls the entire production process, which leads to high quality and sustainability.
Calanus oil contains a mix of different fatty acids
Our calanus oil is a high-quality food supplement with EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid). These polyunsaturated fats, also known as 'fish fatty acids', have numerous benefits.
EPA and DHA support the health of your heart, brain, and eyes. At a dose of 250 mg, DHA contributes to the maintenance of brain function and normal vision. In addition, EPA and DHA, with a daily intake of 250 mg, contribute to the normal function of the heart. Stearidonic acid (or stearidoninic acid) is a lesser-known omega-3 fatty acid. SDA is an intermediate step in the conversion of the omega-3 fatty acid ALA to EPA.
This supplement is suitable for people who want to benefit from omega-3 fatty acids but do not want to use fish oil due to, for example, taste preferences or allergies.
Our Calanus oil is completely natural and contains no additives. This preserves the intrinsic benefits of the product.
TOTOX value
The TOTOX value is a measure of oxidation, consisting of peroxidation (PV) and anisidine value (AV). Due to the dark color of the oil (due to astaxanthin), the AV cannot be determined, but in other tests (PV), the producer guarantees high stability and an extremely low TOTOX until the best before date, based on measurements.
